Featuring my Penguin Trio, this Lily Clare china mug brings together three wonderfully individual characters, each with an expression and personality of its own.

The design began as original artwork created by hand before being carefully adapted for my homeware collection.

The result is a mug that's practical enough for everyday tea and coffee but with considerably more character than something you'd find in an ordinary kitchen cupboard.

One of the things I enjoy most when painting animals is capturing the tiny differences that give each one its own personality.

Put three penguins together and suddenly you have a cast of characters.

There's always one who looks sensible.

One who appears to know exactly what's going on.

And one who quite clearly doesn't.
