Original Deerhound Illustration. Hand Drawn Pencil Wildlife & Dog Portrait by Lily Clare

A Portrait Full of Character and Joy

This original deerhound illustration celebrates everything that makes these remarkable dogs so unforgettable - their gentle nature, soulful eyes and wonderfully expressive personalities.

Drawn by hand using graphite and coloured pencil on archival-quality paper, this portrait captures a playful moment of connection. The slight tilt of the head, warm amber eyes and unmistakable deerhound smile create a piece that feels both lifelike and full of emotion. Every fine pencil stroke has been carefully layered to recreate the soft texture of the coat while preserving the breed's elegant features and unmistakable charm.

Whether you're a devoted deerhound owner, a sighthound enthusiast or simply love artwork that tells a story, this original piece offers warmth, personality and timeless appeal.

As with every original created by Lily Clare Art & Design, this illustration is entirely hand drawn using traditional techniques - never digitally generated or AI produced.

Artist's Note

"I've always loved the gentle, almost comical expressions of deerhounds. Their kindness shines through their eyes, and this portrait was inspired by one of those joyful moments when curiosity, affection and a cheeky smile all come together. I wanted this illustration to celebrate not only the beauty of the breed but the happiness they bring to the people who love them."
