Little Steps – Original Elephant Watercolour

Small steps. A whole world ahead.

With a determined stride and somewhere important to be, Little Steps captures a young elephant making its way into the world.

Painted by Lily Clare in watercolour, the piece combines softly layered greys and expressive detail with generous white space, allowing the little elephant's character and movement to take centre stage.

There is something both vulnerable and quietly confident about this young elephant. It is that fleeting moment between staying close and beginning to explore — taking those first independent steps into a much bigger world.

Like much of Lily Clare's work, Little Steps is as much about a feeling as it is about wildlife. A gentle reminder that every journey, however big, begins with a small step.

An original Lily Clare artwork

This is an original, hand-painted watercolour by Lily Clare, not a print or digital reproduction. The subtle variations in pigment, brushwork and texture are all part of the original piece and make it completely unique.

A piece with meaning

Little Steps would make a particularly thoughtful piece for a nursery or child's room, but its understated palette and simple composition also make it a beautiful addition to a contemporary interior.

It could also make a meaningful gift to mark a new beginning — a new baby, christening, first home, graduation or simply the beginning of a new chapter.

One original. One home. Once it's gone, it's gone.
